April Product Update – Customizable Camera Video Settings, Region Search Over Multiple Days, and Improved Video Feeds
This past month, we’ve been focused on smaller, more detailed features to further improve the Rhombus user-experience. We will continue to optimize the platform heading into May before we release more groundbreaking features. As always, we want to ensure that the system you own performs at the highest level possible, continually gets better, and delivers the absolute best cloud security experience in the world.
Fine Tuning Your Video Feed with Granular Camera Settings
To ensure your Rhombus video security system continually meets your needs, we’ve released granular controls for adjusting your camera settings. These settings are now available in the web console and mobile app – with more coming soon!
The first thing you may notice is that we’ve moved the web console video settings, from the bottom of the video player to directly on it.
Additionally, we’ve added a bunch of new cameras settings, including contrast, brightness, saturation, WDR (wide dynamic range), sharpness, Max ISO, and shutterspeed. These different camera settings allow you to customize your feeds to ensure you receive the most optimal viewing experience in any situation. If you change these settings, you’ll see the effect take place within seconds.
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be releasing additional camera settings to give you even more control over your video feeds. For best results when changing your camera settings, please contact your authorized Rhombus Reseller to see if adjusting camera settings are appropriate for your particular use-case.
Region Search over Multiple Days for Quick, In-Depth Investigations
Within the web player, you can now conduct a region search over a configurable timeframe. Simply select Region Search and select your timeframe. Event thumbnails will then populate beneath the video player so that you can quickly scan and choose the event you wish to review.
Other New Features
- To further enhance your viewing experience, the web console video player is now much larger than before.
- When viewing a list of all of your cameras, you now have the option to display a grid or list view.
- Within the mobile app video player, you can now pinch to zoom.
- You can now customize your door and environmental sensor alerts so that they are assigned to a specific camera(s). When a sensor alert is triggered, the video will be captured from the assigned camera(s).
Conclusion
Our goal with every product update is to further empower your organization to help make your life easier when managing your physical security. Rather than limit what you can and can’t do, with Rhombus we believe in giving you, the user, more control so that your video security system works for your organization and not the other way around. From adjusting your storage settings to setting custom activity regions, Rhombus enables you to do more with less.
We hope you enjoyed this month’s product update. As always, please let us know if you have any feedback and thank you for your support.
